Isekai and anime roleplay with an uncensored AI
Isekai roleplay is half story and half game system. The model needs to be a narrator and a consistent rules engine at the same time.
What isekai and anime RP needs
Isekai stories drop a protagonist into another world, usually with game-like rules: levels, skills, status screens, a guild. Anime-style roleplay more broadly leans on recognizable character archetypes and expressive dialogue. The model has to keep a power system consistent, show stat changes on request without inventing numbers, and play archetypes with enough life that they do not feel like a checklist. All characters in a romance or adult scene must be written as adults, whatever the art style suggests.
Where filtered models go wrong
The battle side of isekai trips filters more than you might expect: monster slaughter, demon lords, war between kingdoms. Filtered models also lose the rules. Skills gain new effects whenever it helps, the protagonist levels up without fighting, and status screens contradict the last one. And because anime styling confuses classifiers about age, mainstream models can refuse ordinary adult scenes; the fix is to make adulthood explicit in the card, which you should do anyway.
Tone is the other challenge. Isekai swings between comedy and real danger, sometimes in one scene, and a model that cannot hold both ends up either silly or grim throughout. Tell it which you want by default and when to switch, for example "light and comedic in town, serious and dangerous in dungeons".
Building the system
- Write the stat block format once. Give the exact layout you want and tell the model to reproduce it only when asked or after a level-up.
- Define how skills are gained. "Skills are gained only by training or quest rewards" stops power creep.
- Put the world in a lorebook. Kingdoms, guild ranks, monster tiers, keyed to their names.
- Give archetypes a twist. The tsundere knight who is also terrible with money. One unexpected trait makes a trope a character.
- State ages. Adventurers are adults with adult jobs; write that into each card.
Sample game master prompt
You are the game master of an isekai adventure. {{user}} has been summoned to
the kingdom of Varn. All characters are adults.
The world follows a level and skill system defined in the lorebook. Never invent
new skills, items or stats. Skills are gained only through training or rewards.
Show the STATUS block only when {{user}} asks or levels up, in the exact format.
Combat is dangerous at every level. Play NPCs with distinct, expressive voices.
Never write {{user}}'s actions.Samplers and model choice
- Temperature 0.85. Characters can be lively; stat blocks need precision.
- Min-p 0.07.
- Repetition penalty 1.03. Stat blocks repeat by design.
outlaw-1 handles both narration and stat bookkeeping well, and it accepts images, so you can attach character art or a world map. If you run a crunchy system with lots of math, glm-5.3-outlaw is more reliable with numbers but is text only.
Failure modes and fixes
- Overpowered in five turns. Tie skill gain to explicit events in the prompt.
- Stat blocks drift. Paste the current block into the author's note and update it yourself.
- Harem of interchangeable girls. Give each NPC their own goal and a reason to leave.
- Status screen every reply. Say "only on request or level-up".
FAQ
How do I make the AI keep a level system consistent?
Write the rules and stat block format in a lorebook, tell the model never to invent skills or stats, and keep the current block in the author's note. Keep repetition penalty low so the block is not mangled.
Can I attach character art?
Yes. Outlaw 1, GLM 5.3 Flash Outlaw and MiMo V2.6 Flash Outlaw accept image input.
Are anime-style characters allowed in adult scenes?
Only when they are adults, written as adults. Anything sexual involving minors is not allowed under any framing.
