Uncensored AI for plant identification study
Key characters, not vibes: learn to key a plant out properly
Plant identification is a skill of noticing: leaf arrangement, flower parts, the character the key actually wants. A model that will argue about characters is a better teacher than an app that just names the plant.
Why the mainstream APIs fail here
Phone apps name the plant and end the lesson. Keys ask you to see, and the vocabulary of seeing is a language nobody teaches any more. And when the plant in question is a declared weed or a poisonous species, general chatbots get evasive about exactly the characters that matter.
How Wild West API is used for this
Describe what you see in plain words; get the vocabulary, the likely families and which character would decide it. Work a key together, arguing each couplet. Ask for the poisonous lookalike and what distinguishes it; that is the pairing field tests love.
A working loop
- Describe with counts and arrangements, not adjectives; leaves opposite, five petals beats pretty.
- Ask which family characters would decide it and go check.
- Key the same plant twice, once from memory; the second pass is the lesson.
